THE CHANGE
Back to School
My journey into the world of jewelry began with a growing curiosity for creativity and a desire to work with my hands. In the early stages, I explored wire wrapping, creating handmade jewelry with raw natural crystals. What began as a hobby and an exploration soon became a profound passion and a commitment to artistic expression through contemporary jewelry.
In 2020, I began my formal education at the Assamblage Contemporary Jewelry School in Bucharest. This marked the start of a transformative path that shaped both my technical skills and artistic identity.
I started with the Introduction to Jewelry courses, where I learned essential techniques for working with silver and other metals. These classes provided a solid foundation in traditional craftsmanship and introduced me to the design-thinking process behind each piece.
Building on that foundation, I continued with the Wax Modeling and Centrifugal Casting courses, where I explored complex forms and methods for turning wax into metal—broadening both my creative possibilities and technical range.
In the Joints and Closing Systems course, I discovered the importance of refined construction—how even the smallest structural details can support both function and concept. The Concept and Prototyping course brought everything together, offering a clear framework for developing and presenting a cohesive jewelry collection.
My training continued with the Gold Courses series, where I worked with yellow, pink, and white gold and learned how to integrate precious stones with thoughtfulness and care. These experiences deepened my understanding of materials and expanded my expressive vocabulary.
Curious to push boundaries, I explored more experimental directions. In the Chains in Contemporary Jewelry course, I reinterpreted classical chain structures into original compositions. The Alternative Materials course taught me to combine resin and metal in innovative ways. In Stone Grinding, I studied the shaping of cabochon stones, developing precise control over form, symmetry, and finish.
Beyond the classroom, I’ve remained committed to continuous growth—researching, investing in tools and materials, and working in my own studio. I also taught myself techniques such as sand casting, silver reticulation, and a variety of texturing methods, further expanding my technical repertoire and creative confidence.
I continue to learn every day—because in jewelry, as in life, mastery lies not in perfection but in the willingness to stay curious, to experiment, and to evolve.
“The Change – Back to School” is not just about education—it’s about transformation. It represents a return to creativity, a deep commitment to learning, and the discovery of a language through which I can express ideas, emotions, and identity in tangible, wearable form.
